The ASEAN is assisting Myanmar in recovering from Cyclone Nargis, which struck the coast of the country on May 2 and 3, 2008. The humanitarian mission involves a Volunteers Progamme in Myanmar from September 2009 to January 2010, tentatively.
To this end, the Coordinating Office for the ASEAN Humanitarian Task Force in Yangoon, Myanmar is seeking ASEAN Volunteers (only ASEAN nationals) to assist in Post-Nargis Recovery and Preparedness Projects. The volunteers will be assigned to support project implementation. Those who will be accepted in the program must be available in September 2009 and will assume the following positions:
* Community Project Officer/Assistant
* Community Reporting Officer/Assistant
* Project Finance Officer/Assistant

4th Malaysia International Ekiden Run 2009 Putrajaya, Malaysia

Background:
The 4th Malaysia International Ekiden Run is a relay marathon comprising of 5 persons in a team. Each person in the team will be running approximately 2 to 3 kilometers. Teams can participate in 5 categories: Mixed, Men Open, Women Open, Men Junior and Women Junior.
The Run is organized by International Youth Centre (IYC), Honorary Consulate General of Malaysia in Fukuoka, Japan and the Alumni of Look East Policy Society (ALEPS) with the support of Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Tourism, Federal Territory Amateur Athletics Association (FTAA), Royal Malaysian Police, Putrajaya Corporation and the Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
Venue and Date:
This event will be held in Putrajaya, Malaysia on October 4, 2009.
Expenses:
The Organizers will sponsor the registration fees (RM100) for foreign teams which covers free accommodation (room sharing) from October 3 to 5, 2009 at IYC, Kuala Lumpur. Meals will be on the individual basis and not provided, but on the actual day of the Run, refreshments will be provided. Local transports from and to airport upon arrival and departure and to the Run venue will also be the responsibility of the Organizers.
Awards:
All runners will be awarded with a finisher medal and official certificate endorsed by IYC and FTAA.
